Join us on Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th of July 2010 at Tamworth Castle Pleasure Grounds, just 15 minutes from Birmingham city centre, for a weekend of the biggest stars and the greatest live music!

Saturday the 17th sees some of the biggest stars from the 80’s taking to the festival stage for eight hours of pure musical heaven. On Sunday the 18th July, you can join us for a day of massive hits and the biggest and best chart stars around performing live on the festival stage.

It’s gonna be a truly amazing festival this year and YOU can be part of all the action, so grab your tickets, get your dancing shoes on and your whistles at the ready, it’s one not to miss – We’ll see you there!

Beer Festival

Tamworth Beer Festival which takes place in September every year. Home for the last twelve years has been Tamworth Assembly Rooms, right in the middle of the Branch area.

The Tamworth Beer Festival brings the discerning drinkers from our branch (and further afield) a choice of about 100 real ales from all over the country, and sometimes from outside the country too. There are light and dark milds, bitters – weak and strong, stouts and porters, fruit beers, real lagers, and many more styles. Some beers each year are brewed specially for the Festival and will most likely never be available again!

As well as the real ales there is also a choice of real ciders and perry plus a fantastic selection of bottled beers from all over the world. Add to this live music, and a selection of yummy food and there really is something for everyone at the Festival.

Tamworth Beer Festival

100+ real ales from micro brwries, inc fest specials/one-offs. Cask cooling system to ensure good condition. Ciders/perries, UK + foreign bottled beers.

Supervised children permitted until 5pm. Thu eve + daytimes-quiet sessions; live entertainment Fri eve-Treebeard 8pm, Sat eve-Spooky Mouse 8pm.

Hot/cold food avail all sessions. Soft drinks avail for drivers. Souvenir tankard glass + poloshirts avail.

Open: 11-11pm each day. Admission £3 all sessions except Fri 5-11pm (£4). CAMRA membs free entry all times.

IT’S FUN FOR ALL AND FOR FREE! IT’S THE TAMWORTH SUMMER FESTIVAL.

Tamworth Borough Council in Partnership with Tamworth Lions brings you the annual flagship event, Tamworth’s Summer Festival. The festival has been part of the outdoor events programme for years and is recognised as the day families in Tamworth get together to have fun.

This year is no exception with a load of activities for all the family to enjoy and take part in, whether it’s listening to music or trying to splat the rat there is lots to see and do. This year’s event also has a new highlight, the NEW Sandyback Corner. This will have Tamworth Sandyback Pigs on show, you will be able to see them up close and be told stories of Tamworth’s most famous animal.

There will also be the traditional aspects of the festival which include the Heritage Zone, Crafts, Stalls, food and drink and many more activities that have made this event such a huge success.

There will also be discount admission entrance to Tamworth Castle where there is a Tudor Household Re-enactment.

The annual Summer Festival this year will have a host of activities for all the family. Continuing on the success of last years event this years will have activities and attractions to entertain and amuse all visitors, this year sees the introduction of the NEW Tamworth Pig Zone.

Community Zone

This area will offer the community information about issues from a range of local organisations on subjects affecting residents in Tamworth. This will include Tamworth Borough Council, Fire, Police, Education Providers and others.

Food and Drink

Visitors will be able to sample the best food Tamworth has to offer, showcasing local produce and restaurants across the town.

Heritage Zone

Tamworth’s rich heritage is on display with a Medieval re-enactment takes centre stage, this section is supported by a host of other interesting local heritage organisations.

Family Fun Zone

One for all the family this Zone has a range of fun filled activities for all, this includes shows and games. Fair

Sports Development Zone

Come enjoy taster sessions for a range of sporting activities.

Stalls and Charity

There will be a variety of stalls selling all sorts and charity stalls raising funds for local organisations.

The Tamworth Phoenix are an American football team playing in the United Kingdom.

The Phoenix field a senior team in the British American Football League First Division, South West Conference.

The Phoenix also field a junior team and a youth team.

History

The Phoenix were founded in 2004 by Dave Winter, Jay Alexander, Ed Winter and Ryan Baker, after re-establishing youth football in the area, as the Tamworth Trojans, a year earlier.

In their first season 2008, the Phoenix came 2nd in the BAFL2 Central conference behind champions the Nottingham Caesars.

However, they avenged this by defeating them in the playoffs on route to a BritBowl 2 final defeat to the London Cobras, also a first year club.
